Proxy site killing my VPS HELP!

Hey guys, I have a VPS server hosted with inmotionhosting.com

    http://www.inmotionhosting.com/dedicated_server.html
    memory quota - 256 MB
Burstable Memory Quota - 1 GB
RAID 5 Fault Tolerant Disk Space - 40 GB
Monthly Premium Transfer (GB) - 500 GB

On this server I have two main sites and a few very small traffic ones.

    The two main ones are

    www.facebookprofile.com
    (35gb/month - 1,3K uniques per day)

    and

    www.sneakanon.com
(2-20gb per day - 1,3K uniques per day)

traffic on one day was 25gb but that was because i accidently removed the hotlink mod, after re-installing the hot link mod traffic is around 2-4gb per day but is still crashing my vps i think. It went down three times yesterday.

Can anyone provide guidance or help as to what to do, I would have thought this VPS could easily handle that kind of proxy traffic!

Is there a way to limit the proxy site via cPanel? Or should i Ditch inmotionhosting all-together..

    Any help is appreciated

    :(

You got a deal, as my sites are all down again!

are you able to provide a virtual FTP to the site when hosted with you?

You get a normal hosting account with DirectAdmin as the CP, but it's optimised for proxies. PM me your email addy and I'll set the account up.

The best solution will be to upgrade your VPS with more RAM. PHProxy if you used this take much more RAM then cgi proxy. I suggest you to have at least 1GB RAM to handle the visitors well. If you don't have much money to spent, you need to block traffic that isn't worth anything.

Well VPS for proxies isn't a good solution at all...either full dedicated or shared hosts optimized for proxies.

    cPanel on 256MB RAM VPS?...ouch!

I think you went for a provider...still if you need quality hosting for your proxies later, feel free to have a look at our sale thread here : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=482488

1- Use the built in bandwidth limiter for phpproxy

    2- Get more RAM

I was making between 5-10 a day, but with all the issues with my VPS the site wa sdown for liek a week and traffic has gone from 1000's of uniques per day to hundreds, and earnings are about 1$ a day now.

Im working on getting traffic back to it.

Proxies can pay ok, but i will tell you this they don't last, nor does the traffic from mailing lists or topsites, they can be quite annoying actually. Worth it for me though since i run facebookprofile.com so i can drive traffic to it from there.
