This is a proxy site which runs on the CGIProxy script. I don't believe that the bandwidth reported by AWstats is accurate, but it is reflected in cPanel. Not sure how to accurately check it out, but use your best judgement based on these traffic figures, the bandwidth should be substantial.
I run this site from a dedicated box hosted by softlayer that runs about $200 per month along with my other sites. Historically, it has used up about 50% of that servers resources (on average). I have hosted other sites on the same server, and will use resource usage as a gauge for hosting costs ($100 / month). The site gets GREAT traffic from the SE's (about 11k visitors from google, 1.5k from MSN this month alone) for over 400 different keyword combinations. I have done zero paid promotion for this site. All links that are in place now are free and will remain in place after the sale.

According to AWstats and cPanel the bandwidth usage is not that much. The only anti-hotlinking that I have tried is to block Google Images, which I quickly undid because it didn't seem to make any difference. The script is pretty easy to modify, and you can block hosts / IPs / websites from the proxy if you find that someone is using it for that purpose.

Just as an FYI, my MySpace account only has about 4k friends. Most of that 'myspace' traffic comes from other people talking about the site, not from my profile.

 

Well I have a couple of issues

You claim the site is making $1,000.00 per month... yet the sites only two (2) months old.... and has not earned $1,000.00 yet in either month... so this is speculation.

Next you say there are 30,000 unique visitors, and that there are 3,000,000 page views....I have a hard time believing that these users on average generate 100 page views each...can you break this down correctly Uniques PV per unique.... Returning Users PV per user....thank you


Next in question goes back to the 3,000,000 page views,

why is the Adsense impression number 103,875... not even 10% of the 3mil Page Views??

Correct, my $1000 number is speculation on my part.

The pagesviews per user are 98.19 at present. It is a proxy site, and most users visit MySpace with it. I don't think it is unreasonable that each user visits a lot of pages within MySpace while on my proxy (checking others profiles, posting comments, reading and replying to messages, etc). If you need I can provide screenshots of the section of AWstats that breaks down the averages for you.

It is against adsense's TOS to display ads on pages that you do not own the content on. There for, I do NOT diplay adsense ads on the proxied pages, just the main page. Thats where adbrite comes in - those ads are displayed on the proxied pages. Definately a waste, but I like my adsense account A CPM or pop-up network would do nicely on the proxied pages, I just have yet persue that route.
