Yes, I use AFF ads in iframe. I have not seen replace google ads, only my AFF iframes.

    Thanks for the info.

Is that from the router or from cPanel/Awstats/etc?

This is RAW router stats, AWStats is not that reliable when talking such issues IMHO.

PS> I had gzip compression on, and a chain of:

Web Interface (PHProxy) ==> Squid ==> Privoxy ==> Tor ==> Client

    Interface: To Get User's Input
    Squid: To Cache Content
    Privoxy: To Cheat ;)
    Tor: To Change IP's

Good luck, and as i mentioned above, be waiting for the big boom ;)

Yes I know, I usually multiply Awstatsx5 or so...

I used to use 100GB/day until the middle east traffic got blocked, now it's like 40-50GB/day. :)

    Gzip off.

    Nice chain!

You sure other sites weren't leeching bandwidth from you? 100GB a day seem's like a lot for a proxy site.

Here are my stats for a proxy site in May

Yeah i am sure there was no leeching..

You should multiply that AWStats reported 51GB x5->x8 times depending on GZip compression state and the nature of server structure.

What i mean is that AWStats counts only the data actually sent upon a 302/200 HTTP reply codes, while your provider counts all the traffic passing eth0.. AWStats does not count all data as some gets redirected, some gets blocked, some gets 301 to another resource and etc..

I bet your site gets at least ten times the amount AWStats shows you.. Try implementing a more professional reporting tool, or just dump the RAW eth0 traffic stats daily using some crontab job and see the monthly sun, you will be amazed.

Thanks, that chain helps a lot, specially to insert tricky popunder windows on some pages onmouseover and/or onunload.. used to get me some great advertisement credits.

    Good luck, Ruslan

you can get away with hosting it at dreamhost until it gets relatively large. then they'll completely disable the domain. you're best off with a dedicated server.

Can I ask how people get so many visitors to there proxy sites? Is it through word of mouth, or advertising, or search engines?

I was receiving more than 300 unique visitors a day to my test proxy after just mentioning it on The Tech FAQ Forum.

submit it to topsites, proxy.org, use co-op, do some seo, and advertise it. traffic will skyrocket from there.
