Hi all, Out of some discussion, would you use a proxy server to make a website be in a country where it is not physically or would you simply move the website to a web hosting to the country where you prefer the website to rank. from my experience i would always prefer a website to be physically have a local IP address if they wish to ranking in Australia or the UK or else where. I do not have experience or technical knowledge if a proxy can help. Any guidance will be great. I am using iBusiness Promotor and am interested to know if there any other ranking check programs as good as iBusiness Promotor or better.
Having a website hosted on a server physically located in a particular country greatly helps in geotargeting, as in ranking on the country specific search engine (e.g google.co.uk). If you are targeting a particular geographical location you may also consider getting a country specific TLD (www.xyz.co.uk) and getting inbound links from websites from that particular region. Also you can set the location in Google webmaster tool, to help your cause.
