I am just starting into running a few proxies and have a couple of sites set up at the moment. I have them on a dedi server, and each domain I set up I am currently setting up as a seperate site. There seems to be some people who set up just a single site, and then park their new domains on it and promote them. While I see this is pretty easy, I also see it as having some severe shortcomings. The main shortcomings I see are: All your sites basically look the same. It would be difficult to sell off a "site" without selling the entire network Now, I know that setting up a new site takes a bit more time, but at least I can make each site look the same or as different as I want. Sure, it takes maybe an hour to set up a new site and customise it a bit. It takes the same amount of effort to promote a new parked domain as a totally new seperate proxy site. Of course, if there is a new release of the Proxy script I am running, I would need to install it several times and not just once. I would like to hear from other people that run multiple proxy's and learn why you either park or make new sites.
The advantage to having multiple sites, hopefully on mutiple IPs, is that once the proxies start getting blocked, the traffic may decrease, so give them alternative to use, until that one gets blocked...
It depends on how many IP's your host has allocated to you. Many hosts allow you to purchase additional IP addresses.
I know I have 4 different ips on my hosting account. I believe I can just change the ip address of all my proxy sites with one quick click.
