Proxy Hosting (Or normal hosting) - From $4.99 USD per month

    Hey everyone,

I have recently purchased a dedicated server (2 GB RAM, Athalon XP 2800+) and I have decided to offer proxy (or any other ordinary website) hosting.

    Shared Plans

    Reseller Plans

I can host an absolute maximum of 35 members. Minimum; 15 members. This is to ensure that I have enough bandwidth left to run my own websites. Space upgrades are available for $1.00 USD per gigabyte (1024 MB). Sorry, no bandwidth upgrades are available. In the case that I get enough customers, I will consider upgrading servers to cater for more people.

Please visit the "Order now!" page for further instructions.

    Best Regards,
    -Charles Salmon

Hmm...your server will start to crawl in no time if you run proxies on that Athlon XP 2800+ box, no matter how much RAM or b/w you have...

    a) Zelune and cgi-Proxy aren't very bad running on the box.
    b) I had 13 proxies running perfectly fine (PHProxy) on the server but I took them down because of they were using to much bandwidth.

I've had single proxies take down quads with 8GB of ram before, and you want to run a bunch on a 2800+ . I guess if they all get 1000 page views /day it will be ok. Well, good luck.

    Let me repeat myself.

    a) Zelune and cgi-Proxy aren't very bad running on the box.

PHProxy is more of a munchkin!

How long have you been running proxies and have you ever received any real traffic levels... Saying this is like saying Google is a small company.

I have been running proxies for about 6 months now. I have just stopped because the traffic levels are getting too high (800 GB monthly) and I was not earning enough profit.

Umm, CGIProxy requires way more processing power than PHProxy. And don't expect your server to stay online for more than a day if you run 10 medium sized proxies on it.

You need a good combo of RAM and processor. RAM alone just isn't enough. At the very least, you need a mid-range dual core processor for running proxies smoothly.

Oh really? 13 proxies, large size is smaller than 10 proxies, medium size? Say what now?

'Large size' according to you is? By 'medium sized', I meant proxies getting around 5000 UV/day consuming 10-15 GB of bandwidth per day. What was the average server load when you were running 13 'large proxies' on it?

Do you have a test IP? And a test file?

    800 GB monthly.

Average serverload: Did not check. Mustn't have been too high (if it was, cPanel would have played a fair bit in the role).

How many proxies are currently running on the server? And can I get a custom plan of, say, 500 GB bandwidth per month?

There are currently no proxies on the server. I will allow a custom plan of 500 GB per month. How much space would you like and would like WHM? After thus answer, I will label a price via PM.

Hmm, with 0 sites hosted, the server is rather slow. Check out ping result at pinghosts.com.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.

    a) Google: http://www.pinghosts.com/bar.php?value=385
    Yahoo: http://www.pinghosts.com/bar.php?value=557
    My IP: http://www.pinghosts.com/bar.php?value=421
I, personally, do not think that is too bad. You must also remember that larger companies, such as Google, run on 450K+ servers. Considering this is a single server, it is not bad at all.

    b) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Ping+Hosts
That proves that Ping Hosts is not a very large company. Thus meaning that their results are likely to be inaccurate.

    c) "Pings are initiated from our servers, and may vary from results from your location."
That also proves that the results will vary and that their data is likely to be inaccurate.

I'd suggest you should consider a dual core P D+ for proxies.

Core2Duo or Core2Quad with 4-8GB ram sounds more reasonable to me >_>

I offer those services. The Core2Quad's price are out of date though, so you would have to ask for a quote.
