Great info! I was wondering if you can post the links to those Google / Yahoo groups here which you used.

Sorry for bumping this, but I suppose I and maybe a few others are curious about the reply to the question in my previous post. I don't have a lot of experience with Google or Yahoo groups and I can't seem to find any such groups which fall under that 'free and unrestricted, over 1000+ members' category that you specified. Can you please name / link to them? Thank you. ;)

You can search for the keyword "proxy" in Google Groups. There is a member count and info if the group is restricted or moderated in the bottom of every result. And it's not a mandatory to post in groups with 1000+ members. They just get more exposure. :)

i think some body posted this to get the proxy hosting and proxy template biz going..

    proxy biz needs some investment..

hosting .. yahoo gmail large group posting advertising fees.. and buying 100-200 stumbles and diggs.. also buying proxy.org and some 2-3 top site listing where it really matters..

    to be successful i mean..

most of the proxy group is proxy owner
so you only can get a few traffic from there

    Hey, Nice post.

I have a proxy running on zelune. How do you turn off hotlinking. Which script is better phproxy or zelune? Am just curious as my current earning is 0 from that site.

My personal choice is PHProxy. Don't ask me why. I have read somewhere that Zelune was slow. However I didn't tested it yet. I guess I prefer PHProxy because I'm more familiar with it.

YES, IT WORKS! After getting the info about groups yesterday, I posted my 4 proxy sites to maybe four groups with around 800 members, and e-mailed some restricted ones -- And today when I see my Awstats in cPanel, I see a 70% increase in all three domains, and I made $1.81 in AdSense today. One thing though is that for some reason I'm still having difficulty in finding good unrestricted groups where you can simply go and post. What did the author of this topic do with the restritced groups? And, Yahoo Groups doesn't seem to display wether the groups are restricted or now and how many members are there.

I am happy for you :)

I tried doing this, but did not have good results. Did you do anything special? What text did you send people in the groups?

    Thanks.

I am getting the feeling this is really a hit or miss thing. I started 2 proxies last week (see sig), promoted them equally to a bunch of groups but one proxy is getting twice the traffic of the other.

Also what I found odd was that, over the weekend I got over $1 each day (from the combined proxies) and then yesterday, the day with the most hits so far, a mere 22cents (with 12 clicks). I find this odd because I thought proxies would be most profitable on weekdays and not weekends. We'll see how today goes I guess.
