I run a network of proxy websites and I was wondering if everyone else sees the same pattern that it shoots up in the day time and dies down at night. This same pattern also occurs through the week where it shoots up in general on the weekdays and dies down on the weekends.

    f(x) = sinx +1 is the equation I see (sry to be a Nerd :) )

(I'm refering to the adsense $$$ btw that shoots up and comes down)

My guess is that users are accessing through a proxy at school or work (daytime) but don't need the service during the evening from their home computer.

Many of us also see a pattern of higher returns per click early in the day, due to higher bids being sold out first.

I think this is easily explained by the fact that many Asian countries filter Internet access to their citizens. Proxy use would pick up during their night-time hours (off work, at home), and fall while they're at work. Just a theory...

I noticed the exact same thing. I believe its students and office workers pushing those numbers.

There is also the factor that Adsense pays differently from clicks from different locations, so clicks from the US, UK, AUS, etc get paid out differently.

Looking at the networks which connect to my proxies,

97% of the users are from elementary & high schools, as well as some businesses in the continental U.S.A.

So, it makes sense that 90%+ of the traffic is between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM EST....
