GolfHome: They are listed in the site. Feel free to register and check the service out, after all you can't beat the price to try it Matt: Glad the thread could bring some humor into your life
Nice of you to judge when you have not even tried the service. Tell ya what... When you come out with something better that was specifically made because a lot of forum members asked for it, and manage to keep it free to use as ours is, and make it even remotely as professional, then please feel free to say something.
I would be curious about what kind of distribution you saw in your beta test. Obviously all sites will not pick up all articles... But let's say after 30 days what would be an average percentage of the 30k sites submitted to that listed any particular article. Was it 1%, 10%, 50%?
And, I'd like to add to aeiouy's question, how many links were generated with the beta testers on average per article after 30 days?
To be honest, we only beta'd the site for 2 weeks, as we had 8 volunteer testers running thru everything. needless to say it didn't take them long to break everything and keep breaking it til it didn't break anymore. We didnt actually look at the aspect of how many sites approve the articles, as thats really out of our control completely. Each sites reviewers have their own tastes and what they feel is good, bad, or ugly. We simply make sure the articles get submitted properly for our users, and try to help them as much as we can so they learn to write in a format that we have found to get decent results.
Might want to see about tracking some of that data yourself. I am sure it would be a good way to help market your services in the future.
Unless the submit sites gave us an API into all of their various systems, it would be more trouble than it wuld be worth. The bandwidth required to spider all these sites a number of times daily for a free service just would not be worth the expenditure at this stage. possibly later it will be, I don't know. Right now we are concentrating on doing one thing an doing it well. Getting the articles submitted everywhere. We are adding new submit sites daily now that we have worked out all the current bugs the testers and users have found. So we are pretty much tapped for time for the next few months just doing that. We fully expect to reach 100,000 publishers before we are done.
