Protocol for Removing Pages

We have some product pages on the main site for my company that are no longer relevant - they were pages related to a particular special that we are no longer running.

I check in Google Webmaster Tools and Linkscape and it says the links to a page are only coming from my own domain, and I change all the on-site links to a new page - am I safe just deleting the page? Or is it worth it to add a 301 re-direct to capture any SEO juice, even if all the pages are only getting on-site but no off-site links, at least according to these tools.

A 301 re direct would be the best solution in my opinion as it would give you a backlink that Google love because it makes your website relevant to other pages within your site.

I guess to clarify my issue - are Google Webmaster Tools and SEOMoz's Linkscape reliable enough that you would not bother using a 301 re-direct if you wanted to delete a page that had no links coming to it. The only links going to these pages (according to GWT & Linkscape) are on-site links and I can adjust them myself

Sorry about that. I didn't get it the first time. Yes it is safe. I have done it before with no problems.

Yeah, I've done this before also. Should be safe.
