Coming from the phpLynx forum I see that Kev has posted about protecting the attribute of the template sponsor/designer About time someone did as it happens too much that people's hard work gets depreciated with backlinks being deleted and from one post I saw the users even have the cheek to change the design attribute to thier own.

    Hello...

The technology is available as i seen a designer already offering this...

Which is very good idea to protect the investor as well as the designer from those
who are to relucktant to leave the links in place...

    many thx

In my end we are testing a software that embeds a sponsor link in the template. So far it works only in wordpress and we havent tried it yet in web directory templates. Most of all it is not a hidden link. So no worries for sponsors.

We will Test it with this first

    Thanks

I think this is a fantastic thing to do. I care less about who did it first last or next.
I just think designers and sponsors alike deserve the recognition for their hard work.

Exactly, doesn't matter in this case who did it first although you have to applaud the phpLynx people for setting the stage, what matters is that others follow suit and start doing something to protect all the hard work.

@popotalk; There's no point of protecting a link if you can't see it, besides that way would be against Google's tos, the idea is to not just protect the link but to maintain the attribute for the public eye.

encrypting or obfuscating tpl code is one way to go, better way is via the php files so they are far harder to mess with.
