I recently blogged about a really cool that offers webmasters an opportunity that are buying, selling, or trading links based on PR to determine if they are actually getting what they pay for:

Fake PageRank Detection / Pagerank Fraud tool

    Here is an example:

Daba Web Directory : Shows a PR 8 on Toolbar

So, what if your PR is fake? How does one go about correcting it?

You can still fake PR and get around those detection tools.

If you spending any amount of money on links and your not checking the number of incoming links to the site your purchasing from you may deserve to get conned. Who needs these tools?

Again, you would be very surprised at how many people buy links without checking.

This was posted for those who weren't aware of the possibility of fake PR.

High PR can be very tempting to purchase, especially when it's cheap and turns out to be fake.

Right, but there's probably a very few amount of people in the market to buy a site who even know what PR is AND wouldn't check to see if the site is indexed in Google. What I mean is, if you know enough to care about PR then you know enough to check if it's indexed. When you search on the URL you'd see right away if the contents didn't match the site you were buying. It's not that the tool is useless, and I'm a huge fan of the site in general (jadi, you rock! :) ), I just think that tool has a very small market. His other tools in general are fantastic and should be part of every SEOers toolbox to say the least.
