    Hello all!

I have been considering a career change and finally decided after many years of procrastination that the field of graphic design and more specifically web design is probably best for me. My problem now is finding a program that fits my lifestyle. I have taken online classes before from my community college and have found that I have the type of personality that will allow me to succeed in those classes. Because I have a family and work full time it also gives me the flexibility to be there for my family and I could always take the time while at work to study or work on projects. My problem is finding a program that is reputable. I had considered the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. But after doing some research that is definitely out. The only other online program I am aware of is Academy of Art University in San Francisco. They seem to be reputable and their online classes look great. But I am still having reservations. So I am wondering if anyone has experience with an online design program or knows people who have completed a program online, and if you could give me some insight. Also if anyone knows of other online colleges that are reputable I would be interested in hearing about it.

I am also considering a university close to home. Should the university be accredited with any art and design associations such as NASDA? Or is the portfolio the only thing that matters.

I appreciate you reading and look forward to hearing your responses.
