Talk about something not based on fact.

Simply: Socialism, as imagined by Marx and Engels is a world where everyone would share the benefits of industrialization. Idealy, in Socialism, EVERYONE would have some say in how the economy works.

In Communism on the other hand fewer people have a say in how the economy works, idealy only the "Party Secretary". Very few decide and run the government, with little if any input from anyone else.

More simply, Socialism is an economic system. Where as Communism is a political system.

The two are not the same.

In fact, In The Communist Manifesto. Marx and Engels described communism as a "spectre haunting Europe".

Instead of injecting my own opinion into this discussion, I would like to inject the opinions of some of the smartest people ever to live.

And before some dim-witted fool says "Hey, some of those quotes say 'socialism', not 'communism'", I am going to state for the record that "socialism" is just a marketing name for "communism". Socialists are just communists who have not murdered their political opponents yet.

Just because someone makes a statement doesn't make it true, do you have any argument for your opinion?

I am declining to argue with anyone as stupid as you at this time.

Talking with you is like trying to teach our cats the basic laws of economics.

You are beyond hope. You are mentally and emotionally broken beyond repair.

I'm sorry, I wish that I had something more uplifting to say to you. You really should consider suicide.

    little willy;

How did you learn about the basic laws of economy? I was not aware that Xbox had a game for learning economy. I mean your knowledge about military is from playing war games on your xbox, so how else could you learn about economy?

yo-yo is young and confused. I hope that, as he matures, he will learn about the world in a more practical manner and be able to see things from a more level-headed viewpoint.

Think about how much of a radical leftist P.J. O'Rourke was in his younger days.

Some day perhaps yo-yo might even be as funny at P.J.!

Hell, we should not forget that even Ronald Reagan was a Democrat until he was in his 50's.

I never said I liked China or the Chinese Government, or Communism for that matter. I only said it appears to be working over there.

You know, corruption, torture, murder and constitution shredding seems to be working for Republicans, but just because it's working doesn't mean I like it

Where did I say I'd like to live in China? Or that I'd even want to go there?

The reading comprehension on this forum blows my mind.

You're saying it's not such a bad place. And I'm saying you'd think differently if you lived there.

First of all, I said communism was working (economically), but if you want to talk about living there - I'm sure there's plenty of worse places. I had a college teacher who lived there for 10 years and he loved it. My last girlfriend was Chinese and her father still lived there, he likes it.

I'm not going to say if I'd like it or not, because I've never been there, and haven't read enough about it specifically to make that judgment. I do know that I'm not a fan of their government, their judicial system or their food - but that doesn't mean communism doesn't work for them ;) .
