    In invoicing preferences I have:
    Auto prorate generated invoices-yes
    Auto prorate to day-1
    months to add - 1
    prorate last invoice - no

So now when I add a new account in the middle of the month it is billing for a whole month. Shouldn't it give me half the month to the 1st plus the next full month? What am I missing?

Yes, it should. Are the products you are trying to prorate proratable?

    yes they are prorated products.
What exactly happens when lets say I create a dial up account today Aug 27 and the price is normally $20 per month. At what point does it show or bill him for just 4 days? Because when I add this billing cycle (to an already existing account) It shows the full $20 in the invoice on Aug. 27th.

And I tried another new account setup and it prorated the amount to -$1.35 credit. Now how did that happen?

Also, on a customer record. What does the "Established Date" and "Expiration Date" refer to?
