I know a lot of you here at DP have been burned by clients, and there are plenty of threads that members have started to voice their complaints. Unfortunately, by the time this occurs, it is usually too late, and the scam artist has run off. I have an idea that may allow us to solve the problem. While Itrader points are pretty good, they are not enough. I think that Shawn should log the IP address of all the members who sign up to the forum, as well as existing members. Does anyone else have any better ideas on how this could work? If we could create a system of identifying people who scam others "without" violating the privacy of everyone, I think the forum can become even better.
Good idea. But it may be hard to track somebody based on their IP. They can buy a new router and then their IP changes. It definitely wouldn't hurt to try though.
If we have a ebay system, why dont we just make "digitalbay.com" or something? These are forums, not auction rooms. Rob
Here is my take on the matter: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=1855739#post1855739 responsibility lies with your good judgement!
Totally agree! Education is better than force. You can never stop scammer, instead, spend time teaching people how not to get scam. Green for you Notting
