There are tons of ways to make money on Facebook, many of which are overlooked. I thought it would be useful to go through a few decent ways to monetise the worlds biggest social networking site! Many of these methods have made me a nice income stream. 1 – Use PaidStatus.com Paid Status connects advertisers with FB profile, fan page and group owners that meet certain requirements. You can basically make money selling sponsored status updates as long as you meet minimum requirements e.g. for fan pages its >2000 members. PS is also an alternative way to advertise on Facebook; getting a status update on a 500k fan page is pretty decent exposure. The problem is how to get a decent sized page or group. There are several ways to do this – some white hat, some grey and some black! The ‘proper’ way would be to create a page that naturally attracts fans. Or you could advertise using Facebooks own ad system or via PS. A ‘darker coloured hat’ method would be to trade fans / buy fans. Ebay currently has several listings where you can actually buy fans! The other method that ive come to know is through creating personal profiles that attract friends. See this thread for more info on that: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/198182-reliable-way-make-money-facebook.html 2 – Facebook Apps An app is a program that interacts with the Facebook site and enhances users' experience of Facebook, or provides other functionality. Users add apps to their profile voluntarily and can always "unsubscribe" at any time. Apps offer several ways to make money: - You can sell an app to places like AppMrkt, Appbid, Sitepoint and more (google it!). - Selling ads on your ap - Charge for installs Theres a lot to making an app and youll need to be proficient in coding. Its beyond the scope of this to get into the nitty gritty but if this sounds like youre kind of thing start the research! 3 – Facebook Marketplace Selling unwanted items, or even affiliate products in the Facebook Marketplace: Facebook's marketplace feature is much like Craigslist's, where items are listed and viewed locally. While Craigslist suggests a physical proximity, Facebook's marketplace is a more virtual locality - attracting people of a common interest/group/background rather than a common residence. Visibility of items can also be restricted to a user group. Listing items in the marketplace is free of charge and as a benefit, other users can also see what you have for sale right from your profile, so you are kind of running two advertisements for the same product. If looking to sell affiliate products on a "wall" , "group", "page" or and elsewhere in FB, Clickbank, Commission Junction and other affiliate middlemen offer a choice of products, as do various independent merchants running their own affiliate programs. 4 – Providing a proxy service Many schools and offices block users from accessing social networking sites like Facebook. Providing a proxy service allowing users to bypass these blocks can generate a lot of traffic and (expensive) bandwidth but can be offset with advertisements and the sale of premium proxy services. Wordtracker, a popular keyword research tool, shows that "proxy" was the most searched for word in conjunction with Facebook. There are a lot of people looking for "Facebook proxies". That’s all for now!
Want to add. 5. Make a shop online by using FB, you can use ordinary account or using fan page. Target for people who are potential to buy your product. I have open it to boost my sale and it's work. I can advertise easily with low cost (just my time and internet connection) 6. Viral marketing is where it's really at on Facebook. A good friend of mine on the BlackhatGuide membership does this for a living, and makes a killer 50k his first 2 months marketing on facebook. It all depends on how you do it.
Thanks to all posting for the great info! It certainly does seemto be that Facebook is the place to make money now Regards Mark
one more way is by creating a fan page on some topic. then get as many people on the list as possible. then you can sell that fan page on flippa. i saw one facebook fan page go for around 500 dollars. that was really amazing
