Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by Chillhost, Oct 9, 2004.

If someone could please give me the form for setting a link with anchor text. I know this is a dumb question but I am new.

My website is: www.chillhost.com. My main keyword is "Web Hosting" How many Keywords can be in the anchor text?

    I really Appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Looks like you're doing a pretty good job of it to me:

    <div id="Links2" style="LEFT:0px;TOP:0px; VISIBILITY:hidden; POSITION:absolute;">
<a href="index051.asp">Reseller Hosting cheap web hosts dedicated server hosting</a>
<a href="index052.asp">quality business website hosting dedicated servers web hosts reseller web host</a>

All 3,180 hidden anchor text words....

it didn't even work when I went there..

Be extremely descriptive in your anchor text words...as it will be EXTREMELY difficult to rank for just the term 'web hosting'.

Do some research with the digital point tool to see what similar terms are searched.

It won't be easy to get to the top of the SERPS with "web hosting" as the keyword...

    I agree!

Try going after less comparative terms to start with. Pick a couple of terms and go after that.

    i.e.
    "Cheap Web Hosting"
    "Affordable Web Hosting"
    "Discount Web Hosting"

You get the idea, good luck!

You think those terms aren't hard???

Pretty much anything to do with web hosting will be a bitch to optimise for.

I think its more the blatant stuffing at the bottom of the page that will be tough to deal with. I think "web hosting" clicks are so expensive on google cuz its too hard to optimize for. I'm not sure how many "web hosting" anchors you'd need to even scratch the top 100, but I'm sure you'd spend quite a few years workin on it.
