Proof that PR is whack!

    My blog site is PR5 on the homepage - http://www.fahd.org

    I haven't promoted the site.
    Site gets barely any traffic.
    Site has barely any incoming links, none that I'm aware of except for some forum posts like this.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    i am seeing pr 5. its the latest pr update.

    THat's why i said the pr thing is messed up. Check the long going thread. It might be april fool from google.

    and its truely truely amazing how it got PR5..


    Is it signal that now google is developing new algo which gives less value to traditional backlinks .... :eek:

    Both my sites don't have many backlinks, one has practically none. Yet they are PR 5 & 6 :p

    Yes I agree the algo might be changing to incorporate other factors besides backlinks. That would honestly make it a more effective ranking tool. It can also cause hell for SEO over the next year if that's true. Personally I think google should stop reporting backlinks altogether. It's really just a distraction for webmasters who should be working on their own sites instead of linking.

    Mine has gone from PR 0 to 6 for blog which is just over a month old. I also noticed the new value is propagating across all datacenters.
