Anyone ever tried doing some promotional products marketing? mouse pads, t - shirts? tell me about your experience.. thinking about tryng mousepads, it's good when you have the logo in front of your clients face all the time
it depends on what it is, really. i had one company send me a clay pig paperweight (they made clay windchimes). I have it on my desk, but I think of it as a cute pig, and never order from them. Another send me a stress ball shaped like a hardcat cuz they have temporary workers. I play with it, but again, nothing. Another company send me a mouse pad with their logo on it - but I never need to contact them (service provider) so its kind of a waste. If you do it, make sure its something they'd use and think of you at the same time. Like, if you sell boxes, I'd sell logo'd tape dispensers that they'd use everytime a box is sealed.
I haven't done it but i'm looking to start this shortly, so would be interested in hearing everyones opinion?
Here is a recent blog posting I wrote about marketing with promotional products. It will give you some answers and things to consider and think about! http://www.soho-it-goes.com/resources/blogger/2005/08/marketing-with-promotional-items.html
Funny you should mention. That is what one person is thinking of doing with the audio/video joiner product I posted in different thread for rebranding. It seems to work great for some companies.
If you have the right product i would say it should work to a degree. How would you distribute these mouse pads to people.
