I created an affiliate program(2 tier) last month for 1 Cool File. One thing that I noticed and liked was the Million Euro Wiki affiliate program promotion. For every 25 page sold, an ipod touch is drawn.The sooner, the better your chances. I decided to go with money instead. So on my blog, I added a poll to see what people prefer. Another thing that you could do is bonus tier things in that if someone gets $0 - $2,000 worth of sales per month they earn 8% per sale, if they get $2,001 - $5,000 worth of sales in a month they get 10% per sale, when someone gets $5,001 - $20,000 worth of sales per month they get 12% per sale, and so on until you end up giving 15% of something. The sales and rates of commissions given is just an example, but that is what you could also offer to try and push your affiliates to generate more sales. If they are nearer $5000, then they would want to try and push more sales just so they can go up to the next tier.
I did taught of that but decided that affiliates could "buy" their performance instead. That's why they can get up to 35/15%. This way, they don't have to wait to earn more. Plus, some can buy un-referred affiliates too build their second tier.
