Promoting your site on Video Sites

We have two video clips on our website which I am thinking of adding to the various video sites.

My question is what affect does this have on your SEO campaign. Will it add towards your overall campaign and be looked upon as favourable by the search engines. Are they seen as trusted links?

If it is favourable I was looking at using:

    Yahoo Video
    Google Video
    YouTube
    Dabble
    SearchVideo
    Sharkle

Are there any additional ones, I am based in the UK if that helps.

Finally in terms of a SEM campaign this will obviously increase your online brand awareness But are they good for brand awareness or detrimental?

You won't get any links out of it directly unless you release the videos on your site as well and people link to those.

I don't think the search engines will know about your videos. Therefore I doubt there will be any effect, good or bad.

If your video clips are interesting however, I'm sure people will add them to their blogs and include links to your website (if you are lucky). In either case, you might benefit from the traffic brought in from the videos themselves so I say go for it!

Take advantage of all opportunities! :)

I put up a video on all the big video sites. Don't know how much traffic it brought in but there were a lot of views.
