Promoting pages to the front page of Drupal

Got a quick question for you Drupal experts out there. I'm confused as to how to get a "page" in full to display in my home page.

When I have clearly finished doing <!-- break --> & had "promote to the front page", "promote to the top of the list", and "publish" checked my page shows up partially in the home page. What am I doing wrong? Any tips would be appreciated thanks!

Is it just a node you're putting on your front page, or are you trying to set a specific node to be the front page?

Is the break at the bottom of the text? Does it work if it's not made a sticky (top of list?)

To your question, yes both have been applied.

I have figured out the solution to the problem, it ended up being the "teaser" length needing to be increased in its size. Thanks anyway! :)

what's odd is that if you use the --break-- at the end of the post teaser length should be ignored.

I have actually done both, originally I thought so too but then that's when the only partial details are being seen.
