    Hi,

I have one website with adsense ads and receiving some good traffic. And now I make a new website and put ads on it but both the websites are on different subjects.

My question is that do I place a link of my new website on my old website to get traffic?

    but both are different niches.

    Thanks in advance

yes you can place link of the new one on your old website but it will not help much regarding ranking, yes it will drive some traffic to your new website. :)

See this is the old arguement "Will unrelated links be acceptable if..." and its the same old thing, you place the link on your unrelated site and its unlikely to do more than to hurt your rankings within the search engines because an unrelated link on a website is not likely to make people want to click it.

You could have 1,000,000 visitors to a website about cars but placing a link about teeth whitening is not going to interest them, they are there for information about cars (this is an example, not sure what niches your in).

Personally i would avoid placing the link and look to build related links that will drive you up the search rankings and that in turn will get you related and targetted traffic from people who are more likely to click your ads and banners.

As far as the ranking goes, if your first site is on server-A and 2nd site is on server-B (different IP), then then 2nd site will get the link/rank juice. However I wouldn't link them together for a long-term mainly because they are unrelated.
