I am launching new service which doesn't exist yet on the web. I was thinking to promote it also thorugh blog, but I am absolute begginer and have no idea about it. What I am looking for is short term promotion thorugh blog. If I understood ok I only need to put story into Blogger or Slashdot and if story will be interesting readers will spot it. So it is no sense to use own hosting blog for short term but what I need is readers from sites like Blogger or Slashdot which will maybe spot my story. Am I right or wrong? Should I use all networks Blogger, Slashdot, ... or not? Thank you
How will readers spot your blog? You'll need to do some social bookmarketing for this. Also, a blog is good for promotion. You can write about the process about your idea coming along and so on.
you should get traffic to the blog, is it useless to just create a blog and do not promote it, no one will spot it.
Blog is a great place to promote your site. But you need to submit it also to blog directories to get more visitors...
If it is indeed a unique and interesting site, I would suggest that you post it over at Digg. It will get noticed here immediately and the rest will come naturally. IF it is the only of its kind, I would definately want to know about it, so post it here as well
