I have $200 to spend and I would like to know on what to spend that money in order to get some quality backlinks? The pay per click game is a quick, easy way to generate short term traffic. If you find some long tail keywords that are related to your site, but don't have much competition, you can spend as little as .05-.10 cents a click. For long term traffic, go for the article marketing, social bookmarking, free directory link building. If you can get some good organic search engine traffic, that's good too, but don't rely on that. Create a site that people want or need to visit, people should begin to link to it naturally. I'll take word of mouth advertising over anything else in a heartbeat.

Getting someone to write articales for you is a very good idea and could well be the most productive for your money.
Keep the $200. In this business, you either have a lot of money or you have none, there is no average. Looks like you're going to have to go down the path of free promotion. Article Writing, Forum Posting, Social Bookmarking, Template Building, Etc.. there are thousands of ways to drive traffic to a site that will produce much better results if you just do it yourself then spending $200.
you can try hiring some writers with that 200 dollars to write articles for you, you can get a lot of traffic from that.
