I made a new travel forum recently and don't really know how to promote it well to get new active members. Can anyone suggest me some ideas other than paying others to post on my site? I really have a tight budget here.
hi, i am also a webmaster, correct me if i am wrong but i think that the #1 rule to success in the webmaster business is patience.. If you made a travel forum, i think you should start promoting your forum in traveling related sites, just go around asking for links. Dont pay someone to post in your forum for money. I always say this: I would rather have 10 active collaborating members @ a forum rather than 100 inactive members with 5 posts each. If you want members, try exchaning links, offer some services! invest a little. you said you had a tight budget well, instead of buying a hot cofee in the morning, just prepare yourself one at home, and save up a couple of dollars to buy some ad space! I think you'll be wasting your money. People want to join a forum with alot of people contributing. Try to get some topics going on different places, then people will chime in.
