hey guys, i just got a new forum its about gambling and its called gimmeanace http://www.gimmeanace.com the thing is, its not getting any traffic. see im kind of new at this,so in your opinon, what are the main things i should do in order to get some traffic? any kind of suggestions will be more then welcome !!! regards
Offer an incentive for people to come back and post, or to join up. Some kind of course or bonus that wouldnt be available normally. Also treat your forum like any other SEO'd site. Perhaps you could do some articles on gambling that point back to your forum. This could help generate some traffic and links. If you do an awesome article and get slashdotted then you can expect alot of great traffic. Brad
Also be very clear about what makes your new forum different from the rest. What's the unique thing that you have that will make people want to visit and stay. Capitalise on that!
thanks brad!!! well ive benn thinking, maybe ill buy some of that "master resell books" about gambling in ebay and will offer them for free? how is that sounds? about the seo the gambling industry is very hard to optimize there is just too many sharks out there, so i dont know what to do in that matter. i was thinking of trying adwords what do you? ohh and one more thing can articles realy jump start my forum? thanks
Have you considered going to the source? Finding clubs and such and then working to become the official forum for that club? That's generally a good means of obtaining traffic. I have had a lot of success with that in getting automotive forums going and such. I'm sure that it could apply here as well.
not sure if it is right to post a helpful link for you here: you can try out AdminZone one of the excellent resource for forum administrators/moderators.
Awesome thanks for the big tip on AdminZone... I've been struggling to find ideas on attracting community members, and that place looks like a big helping hand.
Great site you have. Don't let it go to waste! Try- Sigs in forums. Buying a forumboost. Buying Advertising
