Best way, I would suggest is to get affiliated with some popular Photgraphy Forums. You can host images for their users and inturn they provide link in their community. Photography Corner has done such arrangement with Imagshak
I may be of some help ehdmi! I just recently released www.imgjump.com which is still under development.
First of all, publish your site in your signature at forums you're active or even just wrote a few posts and moved on - The posts can be found on Google, so it can be only a good thing for you to have your site published there. Then let users of graphics-centered forums know about the service you offer (don't spam them, of course :-P), and maybe contact some of these sites' owners and offer them some sort of cooperation, as suggested above. One last and very important thing - Find what you're best at, what differentiate your site from your competitors, and use that as a leverage when you're promoting the site. What is it about you that should make everyone start to use your service instead of the existing ones? Is it speed, easy upload interface, additional features you offer, etc.? Good luck! Ronny.
Thanks, everyone, for the ideas. I have started implementingthe suggestions one by one. To start with, I have put the site url in my sig. I am also trying out the myspace idea, and advertising on photography and parenting forums.
I have an image hosting site (myphotolodge.com) and get excellent results at proboards. Very reasonably priced for click ads. There are also several photo links sites that accept your links, advertising is cheap on some of those too.
yeah, lots of people use myspace. I always get messages like: hey there! try out this new image hosting service. but im always like: nothnx
myspace, myspace , and more myspace, be like "FUNNY PICTURES" and note - thanks to http://www.yoursitehere.com for the FREE image hosting!
