Hi All, Been looking at this forum for a few days and loving every bit of it, and in particular this forum, so to my first post. Currently I am in the throws of developing my first directory, and i often thought, do i list other directories?, my gut instinct before i found this forum was yes, why not and from reading posts here it seems like a good thing to do, but here is my question that i would like to gain some perspective on. Is it better to list other directories for free in my directory and vice versa or should i offer an afflilaite to my directory so that all diectory owners can benifit from sharing and in that list other directories that offer an affiliate on my site or a combination of both? I ask this as i see this community as a valuable and educated one and in that wish to learn from the people who have walked before me and start on the right footing with the correct advice. I hope to contribute to the forums as time goes by but for now i am in meltdown just keeping up with reading all old posts Thanks DU
I dont think it matters one way or another. If you go public you get swamped with submissions from trolls. If I was you I would start charging for a review from day one and to then start relationship building with others in the industry. I would be happy to add your site to our lists we give out when we get enquiries. We charge $5 for a review on our sites and offer a 10% discount for any group purchase over $200. Would you be happy with that or would you want to stick to your own pricing structure? PM me your details. All I need is a url, the rates and conditions you offer. We will throw in a guarantee for any links contributers place with you as part of our group offer. We are running an association which has a few basic rules but no one should have a problem with them and lets see if we cant deliver before we start in on the fine print.
PM sent , site is being built as we speak so will post url soon. Yes i woud like to as i move forward develop a good and strong relationship with others moving forward. Thanks
