Im thinking of having a contest on my forum where i give away an xbox 360 game to the poster with 200 plus post over a 2 week period.My forum is kinda slow,so whats the best way to promote this to get other members to participate?I know that not everyone has an xbox,nor cares for games,but i have some playing around that have only been played 1 or 2 times and thought it would be a good tool to giveaway.Any thoughts?
If your forum is about affiliate marketing, why are you going to be giving away xbox games? What is the demographic of your posters? Why not something like: free advertising on your site, gift certificates to godaddy / amazon / etc, affiliate marketing books, free affiliate software, etc Get some other websites and companies to sponsor your promotion too in exchange for advertising.
that makes more sense do soemthing like that.I guess i was thinking a product would perk up some ppl..I think a godaddy gift certificate would be better since everyone that has a site needs domain registration
Yeah don't give away xbox games, because there's a 9/10 chance that most members won't even have an xbox. I ran a webmaster forum contest for Profit Geek and gave away things like links to paid directories, GoDaddy gift cards, PPC vouchers, and a $1000 cash grand prize.
You might be better off with a PS2 game because so many more people have that system rather than the 360.
i think im going to do this like a "store" where ppl can "purchase " these items with a certain number of post..when they get to the post level,they can contact me and tell what they want..for instance when 200 total post is achieved $10 gift certificate to godaddy 400 post $20 gift certificate to amazon or something 700 post free xbox or ps2 game and so on..hows does that sound?I think a little better
