Hey Everyone, I recently started a free image host, www.blurv.com. I got a nice domain, nice design. However, I dont know how I should promote it. Would it be good to get directory submissions? Myspace and Facebook bulletins? Topsites? Offline promotion? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Why would you ever create a website without knowing how you'll promote it and make money off it? You're doing everything backwards. To make it big, you should: 1. Decide if the profit potential is there 2. How you'll do the promotion 3. Then build Anyways - here is what you can do: Upload funny pictures to your website. And then post those pictures on busy forums (in their general chat sections). Thats the best way to promote your image host for free.

Id defiantly say go to forums with high traffic and lots of visitors and post funny or interesting pics from your site. others will click and end up at your site and think wow this seems like a great place to use to post my pics and bam thousands of potential users. How to turn a profit, that i do not know.....
You should make it possible to Upload from URL. Maybe use something like imageshack: Give the user a link to display the image, where the Image is also an actual link to your homepage.
dude I just uploaded an image and there are no ads around it. The only ads I can see are on the upload page. Is that how it is intended??
