I've spent the past 18 months developing an ebook and I think it's pretty useful. I'm going to be using Clickbank but I don't want it lost on page 55 of their directory. What's the best way to promote my eBook enough to get it into the top of the Clickbank directory?
My suggestion depends on the subject of your book and is not connected to Clickbank specifically. A good exposure may also be ebay, setting an auction and including a buy now button. And making a webpage (or small website) explaining the book and giving excerpts free... You could also explore some e-Books sites for ideas such as ebooks-dot-com(though they only deal with publishing companies). A website - though I did not try it - that seems quite reputable and will accept to sell ebooks from their website is booklocker-dot-com, and the contract is not exclusive, that is you can sell also in other sites.
This is something that interests me as well (and I'm sure many others) so I too would like to hear what some of the more experienced publishers/marketers have to say. I would imagine a good tactic would be to offer a free copy for review to someone who has a large mailing list in exchange for a favourable mention in their next newsletter. Maybe PPC ads? Doesn't ClickBank offer a spot in the featured products list (login/logout screen) for $35/day?? It might not be a bad idea if you really think it's gonna sell.
Ebay...that's something I've overlooked for one of my ebooks. Has anyone successfully used them to sell ebooks?
Why not create a 5-6 page summary style report with a few useful tips from your full version, create a "special price" (lower than the real selling price) link in the ebook, and give the special report away after they optin to your email list. Charles
look at how the guy at richjerk dot com marketed his thing. google Rich Jerk and see the sites that come up. His eBook is worthless, but his marketing strategy is brilliant
