Promoting Amazon's electronic products, it's worth it?

Hi, i don't get any good ranks in search engines yet because my website is quite new so I got visitors only from social media sites. I'm trying to sell laptops from Amazon but my conversion rate is extremely poor, only around 0.98%-2%. Well, I heard electronic goods have very low commission percentage but very high conversion rate. Is this true? If I could get better position in Google or other SEs, can I really get higher conversion rate? And how high my avg. conversion rate would be? (i've made my own review to each laptop)

You know, I have one weight loss site and I'm promoting MoreNiche product. I am ranked first in a competitive keyword but my average conversion rate is extremely poor. From total around 300 highly targeted visitors in Google, my avg. conversion rate is 1/80. That's not including 45-55% bounce rate and 30% CTR. This mean I only got 1 sales per 1.5 days. Luckily, the commission percentage is high, more than 20% per sale. I thought it is only me but MN affiliate manager always said it's normal. I have asked other affiliates and they're experiencing the same problem. So now I understand that weight loss related affiliate program always have this kind of problem unless we target buying keywords.

Now, let me ask all of you. I'm really afraid that my conversion rate with Amazon would be as poor as my weight loss site. I only got 3 sales from around 200 clicks since my participation from January. Yes, all of my traffic only came from social bookmarking sites which means my avg. conversion rate is still pretty normal. But if I finally get good amount of traffic from Google, can I really increase my avg. conversion rate? Can I know the potential?

I really want to know the potential of electronic (computer hardware) goods in Amazon. If my commission percentage is only 4% and my conversion rate is as poor as my weight loss site, I think it would be useless to promote our affiliate site. Please answer this so I can know the potential. I know everything is up to ourselves and people's reaction to our site BUT there must be average conversion rate for you and for amazon. Every niches have different average conversion rate, that's for sure.

If weight loss related site probably have around 1:50-1:70 average conversion rate (with around 30% bounce rate and 30% CTR), how about Amazon's electronic products?

For me it's about 2% for high priced electronics with targetted traffic.

If you have targeted traffic, of course it's worth it. You'll get some good money when people buy higher end goods.

what do you mean with 2%? 2% of total clicks or from total visitors? If from total affiliate clicks, how good your CTR is?
