Promoting a website like this?

How would one promote a website like this:

It is a homepage start-up page (the browser default page).

Anything is appreciated and rep given

 

I don't now, but I like the idea a lot and it's very user friendly. I Stumbled your page. Oh, wait, you could use social bookmarking.

 

I've seen some people missed this Opera feature in another browsers - this can be catchy. Good luck.

Here's some suggestions:

Press release,

You could create a Firefox plugin to add a page to or edit a page on your site (maybe do the same with other browsers)

Do a search of "start page" or "home page" and see if you can get a backlink from those sites.

Social bookmarking sites

Pay or find people to do blog posts about it

As people create their 'start page' maybe you could give them a way to share it with others, sort of like a 'top ten list', like what Amazon has for its members.

If your customers pages are crawlable by spiders and are not set to 'nofollow', I bet you would get a TON of people interested in SEO to list their pages. You could also have a ticker on the main page showing how many people are using the service.

 

Is this only just cache in client?

 

I wanted to add (but could no longer edit) that you could have members be able to vote for other members' 'start page'. The top start pages would then be listed on your main page or something.

Quite unique which means there is good potential.

 

Opera already has that feature. but it would work for other browsers i guess nice work.

I am still trying to figure out how it works

but here is my idea write several ideas about the main idea or concept of the site. Then submit them to article submissions

then start link building

A couple of thoughts...

1) I love the firefox extension idea someone had.
2) Maybe have the ability to have more then one version per user?
(so that I could have my multi-homepage homepage for fun stuff, and then for my business ventures)

What a useful tool!

You should make HPS your apex and work your way down. Start a blog exlusively for your page and submit it to blog directories and the page itself to web directories.

When you hit the social bookmarking sites people will be all over your blog that will promote Home Page Startup.
