I do a weekly political radio show that is doing quite well over the airwaves, but i'm not too happy with the internet side of things so far. I very recently moved the radio show website off of one of my other sites onto its own domain, www.midweekpolitics.com My idea would be to promote it so that it has a significantly increased internet listening prescence, but i'm having trouble so far. one thing i know i need to do is make a lower quality, smaller file avaailble of each show for download for those not on broadband. this will start next week. another idea i came up with was giving political forum owners free text links in exchange for a STICKY each week in their forum with a summary of that week's show and a link to it. i've only succesfully gotten this up and running on one forum so far. i'm looking for other ideas from you guys about how i could go about this...
Looked at your website. This may seem more like a site review than a how to on increasing your web audience. Your site needs help. The google ads are overlapping if the window is small, the tables cells have no padding, and the graphics are not of those you would expect from a radio show. Try these quick fixes, and I think at least new visitors won't jump away so quick. Get rid of those fat image borders. Yuck! Change your cell padding to at least 5. Your text is touching the border. Reduce the size of you video thumbnails a little, maybe 175 instead of 275 width Above your main title "This Week's Show:" put something like "Listen Live", and add emphasis. You want people to listen right? Get rid of the google ad, and try to get people to buy time on your show. If you station doesn't let you plug space sell it as plugged space on your recorded shows that people download later. Seriously consider hiring a professional to build your site. Hope this helps. I sent you a pm as well.
