I don't know if this matters for SEO, but I'm working on a photoblog that also has a blog. Does it matter where I store the blog and photoblog? Should I. 1) Have the blog at the site root and then have the photoblog at something like:site.com/photoblog. 2) Photoblog for root and blog on a subdirectory. If there isn't any SEO impact, what about marketing standpoint? It's going to be kind of a celebrity/babe picture photoblog with posts. thanks!
So the photoblog will have pictures of celebrities etc...and what's the blog going to have? Couldn't you integrate the blog with the photoblog? Anyway, seo wise, it wouldn't matter. Marketing wise, depends on your vision for the site
If you update your blog often and want visitors to read it (and it's the main attracting section of your website) put the blog in the root, if not (which is what I prefer persoanlly) put the blog in a folder called /photo-blog/. The name does matter in SEO. /photo-blog/ is better than /blog/. The name factor is not a big deal though. The content is the most important part (and of course link building). Cheers, Nima
