Hey all, pretty much just wondering where is the best place to market/advertise a Off-Topic General Discussion forum? (Google my username if you want to see the forums)!The only niche the forum has is; it's super fast, very unique and has a "Gold" feature where users get XX amount of Gold by either donating or posting. You can use the Gold to play Blackjack and enhance your profile and a lot of other stuff.The niche I know, is very small. But where do you think I should market/advertise it at? Adwords is not a option right now, I heard way to many negative reviews. And I am looking for a different marketing company that would help, any ideas?Thank you!(I am going to put the site in my signature, but it's still waiting in approval status)
Having tried this myself, and applying to another poster asking about marketing an arcade, the same basically follows, although yours is more of a challenge. The hard parts? a) It's already a highly saturated market, and Reddit has stolen most peoples' time and attention for off-topic banter and b) you need others to return, feel like a member, and continue providing posts and feedback. The best way to start a forum is to have a focus, so that you'll rise to the top of a specific web search, and people will come to you. Off topic will be tough, but here's the advice I gave to the arcade guy:
