    Hi,
Don’t discontinue print advertising that you’ve found effective. But be sure to include your URL in any display or classified ads you purchase in trade journals, newspapers, yellow pages, etc.
Look carefully at small display or classified ads in the back of narrowly targeted magazines or trade periodicals. Sometimes these ads are more targeted, more effective, and less expensive than online advertising. Consider other traditional media to drive people to your site, such as direct mail, classifieds, post cards, etc. TV can be used to promote websites, especially in a local market.

To be honest, I find it really short. I would like more information. references to examples of successful business, or some ideas of how much business is derived from traditional media vs highly targeted online advertising.
Like many times, I drive past a billboard, and the few times I pay attention, the product being sold doesnt relate to me, and I can look at the car next to me and realise that it doesnt relate to them either, yet they paid for me to see it. Compare this to online advertising, where ads tend to be highly targeted, only shown to those that might be interested.
But this is the thing, your article is too short, why not compare examples of success different companies make with different traditional methods. Like perhaps leaflets are better then billboards? or which one is the most cost effective way of bringing in genuine leads?

I really like word of mouth advertising, something like either leaflets or business cards, where happy customers can take and share with others. In fact, one time at a birthday party, there was an awesome cake, and the person that brought the cake proudly showed the business card so we could see the photos of the range of cakes they made..... now you had a room full of people, all looking at these amazing cakes, i guarantee you they were all 100% sold on this cake shop. But where the cake shop screwed up is, the business card failed to have a proper website, only some dodgy LONG link to where they had the photos. Memorizing the name of the shop, the phone number, or address, never happened. Lack of a QR code didnt help them either, and even though everyone was SOLD on their products, to my knowledge, noone even remembers the name of the cake shop, let alone able to find it again
(again, your article should mention, if advertising that has QR codes perform better then ads without it?)
This is a true story, and in part was a major motivation for me behind creating i4u.biz.

You know, with online advertising, the cost can vary greatly. Have you done any work at comparing at which price per click, that it becomes cheaper per return to do something such as tv advertising? any examples of costs vs returns from former campaigns?
How much do you personally spend on online advertising per month, vs advertising via traditional methods?

Traditional media is a different case when information is taken from an emerging media source, such as a blog. Usually, the blog, or other emerging media source, has referenced a traditional media source.
