I had just started a new website, is it worth to invest on promotion by AdWords? How much do you think I need to invest for a daily cost? Thanks
Adwords can work very well. In terms of how much to invest in depends on a whole lot a factors including how much you can afford and how competitive the market is. do your research first, if you are targeting a specific market put exact match on your keywords and make keywords as specific as possible to maximize ROI. Have a look around DP to get some ideas and tips, (loads going around)
Probably not very helpful, but the answer has to be "depends". Before worrying about budget, I always create a list of keywords, then have a look at what Google reckons they'll cost per click for a position of 4-6 (a sensible start point), and what sort of traffic to expect. The estimates on traffic tend to be a bit pony, but they'll at least give you a feel of the potential traffic, and how much you're likely to pay per click. Set your budget at something that you're comfortable with - Google will only allow you to spend what you specify. You can always increase or decrease your budget once the campaign's up and running. I'd recommend steering clear of the Content Network, at least until you have a working campaign - you can spend a lot of money and get a poor return if you aren't careful, and you can always try this once you've got a basic campaign up and running. Once the campaign's up and running, try varying your cpc every few days, to try to find the sweet spot (the position that maximises your profit). This is almost certainly not the top position, so experiment. It certainly doesn't hurt to keep your daily budget down, at least until you've made the campaign marginally profitable.
Thanks.. I had just added a campaign and set a $1 daily budget to test the result... I seen many site owner in DP owned a PR4+ website, I just wonder is PR important for increasing the site's traffic?
$1 daily budget is not very much at all and depending on your market may not be enough for a click and will only show once or twice during the entire day, i recommend spending a bit more but its up 2 you. PR its self is not needed for traffic, as long as you are ranking well for your keywords PR is not important. If you are not ranking then getting more quality links to your site is very important.
How can I get quality links to my site? Is it use to join some link directories? If yes, I'm not sure how much should I join and how long will it be take effect (indexed by Search Engine).
In my experience an Adwords campaign would have a limited and short-term impact on visits to a new site....and is only worth it if you are selling a product with a sales conversion rate that will cover your Adwords expense.
Directories are one method of getting some good links to your site. There are loads of posts about getting links to your site, check out around DP I'm sure you will find what your looking for
$1 isn't really enough to get any kind of impression as to how your campaign will perform - even at ten cents per click, ten clicks per day will take a long time to give a realistic impression of performance, which you need if you're going to try different bids/postions to find the best spot for your advert. I would argue that PPC isn't just useful for retail, amongst the campaigns that I manage for clients are people that offer training courses and advice-based websites, that get their revenue from advertising, and most of the campaigns that I manage have 'leads' as their conversions, which may or may not translate to sales. That said, it's certainly easier to tell whether a campaign is working effectively when you can put a dollar/pound value on a conversion, and don't have to try to factor in some kind of lifetime value...
Thanks. My site is a website recommend site, so can I use AdWords, PPC or other method to promote it? this is my website.. www. daydaysite.com (not right to post link yet..)
You can, though it'd be difficult to tell whether you were getting a good return on your spend, unless you've got some good website analysis software to tell you who was doing what on your site, having searched for which keywords. You really need some way to identify 'good' clicks - the ones that actually do what you want them to (click on somebody's link, I assume).
Personally, I would only use AdWords if I was trying to sell something. I don't think it would be very effective for a fledgling website, the traffic would be fleeting and costly. Feel free to try it though.
adwords are the best method these days for advertising and , i only use adwords for my web sites . they easily genrate traffic and at starting u can strat with $ 10 or more and see the traffic which u will get at your web site only in few days. also made your back links more strong for good page rank and good traffic.
Sorry - not something I've been that involved in. My last company used Hitbox (by WebSideStory) and Coremetrics on their sites, but these are quite pricey...
I just a freelancer for my website.. so not looking for high price product... Anyway, thanks so much.
