hmm it seems like it needs a lot to be done .... content, keywords,SEO, link building, articles...
I suggest you should start with finding the right keywords that will bring you customers/prospects, then you can start with the content and so on

 

It's not really customers that I'm looking for. I just want regular users, more the better. I can't think of keywords since there are so many possibilities.

 

Have a look at http:// adwords.google.com.au/select/KeywordToolExternal you should be able to grab some ideas for keywords quickly and easily with as little pain as possible.
