Programming tutorial websites?

    Hello,
Im new to adsense and would like to know if developing programming language tutorial websites (perl, shell scripting, oracle dba stuff, opengl etc) would generate a decent revenew (because this is where i can write a lot of contents) or do you think its not worth coz the net is full of these. Before I start, i thought i would get your opinion on what works and what doesnt work.
Also, how are the ad rates for these type of websites (moderate/low?)

    Thanks in advance,
    CoreDumped.

Poor in my experience, you will get those "Job Site" addvertisment and make less than 10 cent per click

I don't think getting the rights ads would be the problem, but techies have a reputaion for not clickng much.

I have a programming website but it doesn't pay well for me. I get clicks very rarely and it doesn't pay well.

I did this before and it was a loser for me. I had hundreds of pages of Delhpi code snippets and open source programs, and the CTR was horrible. The other poster is right: techies are the least likely to click.

The niche idea is good, sure, but just as good is thinking in terms of demographics. To me, one of the best click-likely demographics out there are middle aged and retired people, so a good niche for ex might be crafting, arts and craft supplies, and that sort of thing. But programming tuts are likely not a cash cow.
