Programmer Volunteers Needed Dream of taking part in something massive? Good news... The New RN site is currently looking for volunteer staff to help build all aspects of it's website. If you are looking to volunteer your programming skills while between jobs or on your spare time to build up your skills, then RN may be the place for you. The Regional Networks (RN) Team, headquartered at regionalnetworks.net, is a social networking site that covers communities (mostly regional networks) worldwide. Our site is dedicated to providing local cities/communities with a link to the world, from China to Canada, and everywhere in between, it is a huge, global, and passionate community. I envision a good bit of the features for the better part of the website, but programming it all is impossible for just me to do alone, and there are just too many ideas, that it would take me years to put together. - The programmer works on a range of technical projects to help improve and maintain the RN website or software applications related to the RN site project goals. - This could include setting up or improving web-based services such as, networks, chat, groups, member services, ect... - Some tasks require fairly advanced programming in a language like ASP .NET or Javascript So if you'd like to help out a growing scene, flex your programming skills a bit, and see some of your work seen and enjoyed by people from all over the world, please drop me an email I ask that you have experience (and a link to something you've already done), and are reliable, and it would help ALOT if you understood our project a little bit and review it before contacting us. Beginner Programmers / Experienced Programmers - Welcomed In; * ASP * ASP .NET * C# * Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) * Flash * Javascript * JScript * PHP programmer Website/Graphic Designers Human Language Translators (Must be fluent in both English and the other language(s); (Afrikaans, Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Burmese, Cantonese, Croatian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, Filipino, Finnish, French, Gan, Greek, German, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Javanese, Kannada, Korean, Latin, Latvian, Marathi, Maithili, Malayalam, Min, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Sindhi, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Taiwanese - Chinese Traditional, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Welsh, Wu.) Please note that all volunteers will be entitled to the RN volunteer incentive programme. It is a unique programme offered by RN to compensate you for your time and effort you put into our site. This will be based on the type of work done, and the time it took to complete the project. Not all projects qualify for this, and payouts occur only 45 days after the release of your project to the website. If this is something that interests you, then please request for paid projects. Help make RN the next generation social networking hangout, Volunteer today!! Thanks for the space, and happy programming, Please email to volunteer at info@ regionalnetworks.net or to apply for an internship at services@ regionalnetworks.net
getting volunteers on this much large scale with almost no initial investment.. seems impossible to me atleast..
Budget for the site is $5000 USD.... I am sure I can find devoted programmers who are welling to give a little more for the cause... As it is a long term commitment.... the site will be done in a module format, so that it's open to any coder, and anyone can submit a module. However it is a massive undertaking and will take months of work.... So anyone up for a challenge is welcome to contact me....
New social networking sites are bound to make loss , even yahoo is shutting down it's social networking site.
Yeah.... I understand that..... But also have a member base of over 650K, and they have been following me around since 2001, when I owned the ZEUSN.com site, that offered chats, and other member services.... that where loved by many.... however the developer guy I had doing the work, ran off with my money, and never finished the work..... so in 2005 I closed the site.... Today I am willing to give it another shoot... As I know what users want and can provide this to the world..... But again can not do it on my own..... Just the project description is 26 pages long and took about 4 months to write up.... And with the right people involved with this project it will make it's mark on the ever changing internet world. .... As to yahoo... when will they ever get something right? ... lol
