Hello, We are planning on opening a new social network [url disclosed]. Well we planned this all last year July 2011, we hired a designer and he said that it would be finished in January. In January when it was due, we had emailed him throughout the time and he had kept us updated until the start of December. When it was due we found out that his website had been deleted (meaning we couldn't email him), his paypal account was closed and we had no way to contact him. The project was only 1/10 completed. We want all basic features. This is the features that he told us would be included (also features that i wanted to be added) MY WORK LIST: A design (I can't work without any eyecandy-like things) Registration script Profile design Dashboard Private messages system Friend request system Post platform functions DETAILED INFORMATIONS: Design: Registration script: Everyone who wants to be in our future community has to register. You have to insert following informations about you if you want to join: Nickname Birthdate Gender Email (for activating issues) These are the important information we need. Optional fields will also be in this form: How did you find us? Contact informations (MSN, ICQ, Skype etc.) Websites Profile design:We have no concrete ideas for the profile design. But I want to add some so-called tabs. It's like a top navigation: one for your own news (like in Facebook) and one for your contact informations. Dashboard:It will looks like Facebook. You can publish your own personal things/status. Private messages system:I think this one doesn't need any detailed informations. You can write to another person messages. Friend request system:Like in Facebook everyone can add friends to their friendlist. We will have following options for everyone: Accept new invites after own confirm (Standard) Accept new invites automaticcaly Don't accept any new invites (no one can invite you) Besides the friend request system (FRS) we will have a ignore/blocking system. I think this system doesn't need any explanations.Everyone can create their own friendlists. They can give their friendlists own names (like: Family, Friends, Internet friends etc.). So contacts can be managed. Post platform functions:Since everyone can post everything what they like we need some functions to avoid spam. Every user can report other users if they post somewhat against our rules. Like in Facebook everyone can "Like" a post. Own posts can be hide but not delete (like in Facebook). Profiles will have some options in sense of showcase: Everyone can view my profile (Standard) Only friends and friends of my friends can view my profile Only friends can see my profile Posts will have a additional function: Only friends of my friendlist X can see this post UPCOMMING THINGS, IDEAS AND WISHES:My ideas I think some of you know other network communities like Tumblr, Deviant Art, Twitter etc. I want to take some function of them for it. Every network community has their own "main idea" and these main ideas shall all be in. For example Tumblr has a good image posting-system. It acts like a blog system without too much text. Since I want a tab navigation for the profiles it would be nice if everyone can start their own "photography blog". They can upload own pictures (with a size limit) or add new images via an URL. Everyone can reblog and like an image. Other as tumblr we would have a comment system. If wished strangers/guests can also post comments. Deviant Art has a good idea for the groups. Everyone can create own groups (but we would have a limit! Otherwise some would create over 100+ groups). Every group will has a control panel. In this control panel (short CP) the owner of the groups can manage new registers and invites new people. I don't know what you can exactly do in Deviant Art with these groups (because I don't own a group) but for EC the owners can write newsletter for their own members. Twitter has a nice function for trending topics. I want this function also. Everyone who adds a # before a word (like #ILoveGaga) will create automatically a new trending word. If many people also use the same trending word (in my example #ILoveGaga) this word will add in a special list which shows overall. Like Twitter only posts who are short (maybe less than 200 signs?) can activate this function. I want also a limit for these new trending-words (may posts cannot have more than 5 topic trending words). Facebook has an interesting function for the profile. You can add in the field music listening for example "Pop", "Rock" etc. This function should also. It's a social network for Little Monsters (Lady Gaga's fan base) we had already opened pre-registration for people to register and 5,000 people registered. We aren't in a hurry for this as we've had a long time to wait, so even completing it would be a bonus. I understand that this will require a lot of work. Having spent on so much initially, we literally have no money to spend on this project. I was hoping we could come to another type of arrangement, like you could have a fraction of the advertising profits, lifetime advertising, hosting or something else we could offer. We have no doubt that this project will be HUGE, the response we got when we published the idea was phenomenal. I haven't seen such a huge response on a project before, (multiple trending topics and things like this) I can understand if you can't do this, for obvious reasons and if you feel you can't just let me know.
