Buying program to encode individual copies of movies and pictures to track usage

I'm trying to help a photographer who makes generic videos and photos for marketing.

She started well but after just 3 months her business stopped and now she's asking for help. I found her videos and pictures all over the Net - no one is going to pay for something they can get for free...

As the topic suggests, I'm looking for a way to protect movies and pictures by having tracking code inserted into each item at checkout so if a copy is being used outside copyright terms it can be tracked to the person who downloaded it.

Any help finding existing software or if someone can help, this lady needs help
    Thanks!

P.S. Please remember - she's a struggling photographer, not a millionaire - cheers and thanks to all the people sending PMs, I appreciate your time!

Just wanted to say thanks to those who have sent PMs - it's greatly appreciated.

This is more about having evidence being inserted invisibly into the video. A tracking number or code that will match the order information of the purchaser. Most importantly this isn't about watermarking, it's about inserting code without being seen and without degrading the movie

Expensive DRM is overkill for a struggling photographer

See PM, this is not a problem. Its a ripping good opportunity to put her on the map. And its frankly that simple ;) This can be mitigated and turned into a positive with 2 paragraphs of copy, a proper website and a "glass is half full" attitude. DRM related fixes are bullshit and do not address the issue.

This is easy with pictures since you can insert a code right inside the file hash without degrading the phot and will always be invisible... It wont work the same way with videos though but there are other ways... Google "secret message jpeg" for the idea.. Then the program can be ported into the web so you can check validation right on your website... You can also bump in EXIF information if you want
