I am retired, so if my wife does not need me for anything, or the kids and grandkids, I have lots of time to spend on the net and on my computer. As I find new content to create a site, will do. And no, not those cookie cutter sites that everybody, including me, sell.
For all the good comments. If not tonight, or tomorrow, for sure Monday will have a new site up! Healthy Golden Years Exercise and Fitness for Seniors Just right for me!!!! I get the senior discount everywhere I go!!! And a great niche!!! Oh, here is new site, but do not sign up as I am going to move it to new servers shortly. http://www.ezforumhost.com HHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA...just too damn many irons in the fire for me to keep track of!!!
No kidding Dawg! I had my eye on the ezforumhost.com... Congrats. I grew up with a grandfather who was semi-retired doing business online. He started out with a software company, as he was a software developer developing software for the visually challenged. He did quite well for many a years at it. Anyways, he helped me learn a lot of what I know, and if it weren't for him I doubt I would know half as much as I do about business on the internet. So don't forgot to pass on your knowledge if the family is interested!
Well, with me, despite starting on the old data processors, then selling ataris and texas instruments computers, it is my son who teaches me! Remember the old days, when computers were made of metal and used clunky cartridges? Anyways, my son was like 9 or ten when I brought home the first so-called home computer...vic-10 Then got a vic-20 Anybody remember those? By the time the commodore 64 came out, my son had taken apart the first two, plus the atari, learned the guts, rebuilt them faster...and so forth. Same with the com-64, he tore it down one day while I was at work. Came home to pieces all over the place! And he put it back together, etc. 300 baud modem days! Anyways, he is cisco certified, ms certified, and even more damn paper hes got on his walls! So he does the work for me when things go wrong...harder now that I am in Iowa and he is in Texas.
Wow, that's quite the story there, thanks for sharing! I'm a little too young for the Vic-10/20 and Commodore 64 eras. I've heard of them, played with an old C64 briefly when I was younger... My first computer was an XT x086 with an 8Mhz processor and something like 512k of ram, 2 5 1/4" floppies... You're son sounds quite impressive, it must be nice having somebody like that around!
Hey iowadog, it has a nice and simple design. I like your placement of Google Ads throughout the webpage. Also, nice articles, I bookmarked your webpage on the Google Toolbar, all in all, it does seem like an extremely nice website? If you don't mind me asking, how long did you have the blog? I just wanted to know because I was curious how long it took for you to get a PageRank 3.
http://www.webmasterstrail.com has a PR3???? WOW! The domain itself I have had for about 3 years. Then it laid about doing nothing until now. Yeah, but son is slow, slower than molasses in december! He has a new computer for me, that I sent him the case for, (one of those with lights, bells, whistles, clear side, lit up fans top and sides and back, and light bubblies on each corner, etc) since last October!!!!
Well from the looks of it, it has a lot of good quality content which I definitely bet it will profit you with the new Google PR Update and your Google PR might go up. But from the looks of it, most datacenters are giving you a Page Rank 3/10. Guess you got the PR3 recently. Well just wait a while and you're son is doing a good job, keep it up!
I am looking right now for more original content. Content not elsewhere, on article sites, etc. Should help a bunch.... Plus of course, going to add some pages with links to good tools, resources and services all about blogging. Just got through putting up a new site a few minutes ago! Now to wait for the new logo I ordered to replace the logo at the top. http://www.ustextmessages.com Now to figure out a way to charge for this service!
hmm...I have a lot of friends who would appreciate that service! I am trying it out right now. If it does, foreign countries would like it because a lot of relatives have people in the U.S. with cell phones! I'll post an update after I have used it.
If you succeed, yes, let me know asap! I am looking at the script now to see how to set it up so that someone could put it into their blog, forum, website as a free service.
