Hi DP members, I'm a little confused. On my two recent posts my profile pic is NOT being displayed, even though i've already added/uploaded one. Why is it not showing?? i hope i'm not being stupid Thanks, AW
That's because you uploaded a profile picture, not an avatar. Go to your control panel and click on Edit Avatar, then upload the picture there.
No, of course you're not being stupid, AW, your question is a legit one. I'm not sure exactly what you have (or have not done) to upload your picture but, yes, it is possible you simply made an error in doing so. Depending on what you actually want to do (upload a pic to display within each of your posts or upload a picture that will display in your profile area and ONLY your profile area) there are different ways to go about it. Either way, the first thing you will want to do is go into your Control Panel (you can do this by clicking 'Quick Links' on the task bar that appears on the upper area of your screen). Then, once there, there are a couple of different options for you to choose from, one being 'Edit Avatar' and the other being 'Edit Profile Picture.' You'll need to figure out which one it is that you are actually wanting to do. Taken from DP's uploading info: From the sounds of what you wrote in your post above...... ...I'm wondering if maybe you tried to upload an avatar in your profile pic area instead of in your 'edit avatar' area. If so, your profile pic will only show up in your profile picture area (NOT within your actual posts). If you are wanting to upload an avatar that WILL show up within your POSTS, you'll need to upload them from the 'Edit Avatar' area (as opposed to the 'Edit Profile Picture' area). If you look in your Control Panel you will see BOTH options; 'Edit Avatar' and 'Edit Profile Picture'. To upload an avatar (an avatar can also be a pic of yourself) that will display within each of your posts choose the 'Edit Avatar' option. After you click on that a small box will pop open giving you the option of choosing from an avatar you found on the net or, if you prefer, one that you already have stored somewhere on your own computer. If wanting to use one you found on the net choose option 1 and enter the URL (link) in the area provided and then click 'save changes'. If wanting to upload an avatar you currently have saved on your own computer select option 2, browse for the picture you wish to use and, when you locate it, double click on the picture so that the URL for it shows up in the space provided and, once that is done, click 'save changes'. Your avatar (whether graphic or pic of yourself) should now be viewable within your posts. Hope that helps. If not, let us know and we'll instruct you further.
Profile picture is no an avatar - please remember it .. If you add a profile pic, it will be visible only into your profile, not in the whole thread ( like here ). As I see, you've done it exactly in the way I said - you've uploaded picture, not avatar ( black guy and some landscape ).
Oh, you took that one yourself? Coooooool. Yeah, I really do like it, I find there's something rather refreshing and calm about it. Apparently you're more than just a newly experienced 'avatar uploader' (lol) but you're quite the photographer, too. Well done!
