Some web 2.0 like Squidoo have become Do-Follow so you have to be careful about that. I suggest working on getting actual high pr links or using profile links to build up the pr of other links that are pointing to your site. Depending on the competition you won't be able to compete with a bunch of pr0 profile links alone.
Just a quick question to add-on, are profile link building considered blackhat? Also, they can be directed at, for example, domain.com/page/page.html?
Profile link building is always helpful if done properly and under supervision of professionals. web 2.0 properties are high traffic websites, which gets crawled hourly or so.
hi mate ,, I'll say this at the outset - I've used Squidoo, Hubpages, and Ezine but not Associated Content or Go Articles. My favorite so far is Hubpages and so I spend most of my time here. The reason I've included Associated Content and Go Articles is because I've seen them mentioned quite a bit and I've seen them included in a number of SEO article submission software programs. That said, most of the SEO information read states that you should post to as many of these Web 2.0 article sites are you can. Then Digg (or reddit or ...) the article. Obviously if you have decided to use these article sites to make money you need a link inside the article. That link should be to some other page you have with more information on the topic. This builds a quality backlink.
Profile link building can mean many different things. To me it means creating profiles on websites that allow you to include a followed link within your profile. Sometimes your profile link will only appear as just the URL and other times you need to try adding the links to your bio. When adding links to your bio you may need to try different types of HTML code. For example, if you create a profile on a forum that runs on Expression Engine, you will need to use BBHTML to create a link. Others may use a WYSIWYG editor which is self explanatory and some use basic HTML. I have created hundreds of profiles manually to make sure to not appear spammy or automated to the search engines. I have seen this technique work very well for both improving specific keywords and also build up your websites page rank and trust over time.
