Hello all. I have searched a solution to this question for weeks with no answer so hopefully someone here can help. I created a profile and off that profile i created a group, for some reason 99% of people requesting to join are requesting to join the profile and not the group. so i have no choice but to add them manually to the group by copy and paste. i have now deactivated the profile thinking that would solve the issue but now instead of 70 to 100 requests to join the profile a day i only have like 5 a week to join group. btw the group and the profile are the exact same (buy and sell) any help greatly appreciated. questions? thx
I've got a similar situation with a sports club that I'm diverting to a page. I've got 700 likes on the page and 800 friends on the account... as friends like the page they get unfriended so I know I have 800 people yet to convert! I've invited them over to the page and can only do that once so I'm posting teaser posts on the account pointing to the "official page". The profile pic for the account is a sign saying we have moved so that if the club comes up as a suggested friend they won't, with any luck, click it. Any friend requests that do come through get a "thank you but..." message sent to them and I click "ignore" on the request. The same goes for birthday and games invitations. I routinely go through the chat list and anyone who hasn't had a chat message gets sent one. That has an OK hit rate but its far from 100%. I've copped a fair bit of abuse from kids and met some lovely people too. Its quite funny when I post things on the account page saying that I need people to like the official page - people like that but not the page and they think they're done. I've refined the wording over time but still haven't made it foolproof. If you want to check out the two search on * North Harbour BMX * North Harbour BMX Club
