I think you need something more attractive and not something like a blog

I like both website header, for a body laout it very good for both but i like www.designgururyan.com/graphicslogos

Cool graphics for the ebook covers and nice logo

 

It's a nice design but needs to be broken up a bit, the horizontal rule effect doesn't do it for me. Clear seperation needed.

Overall, both look pretty good though.

Ryan, your design is nice, the color scheme is great. I like the second url more then the first with your logo in the center of the screen. The logo on the left pulls the eyes that way. The site is a tad bloggy with all the buttons and the social bookmark buttons. I would probably kills those, as well as take out things that give the blog impression. I don't think it's unprofessional but it can look cluttered. Overall i would rate it a 9 if it was a blog but since i think your trying to sell yourself, I'll rate it a 6.5

#1 is not showing pictures. #2 looks finished. I like it. However, “Bookmark to” and “Rating” sections could be placed in a separate block, maybe you might want to use a pastel color for a background of that block.
